Who can participate?

Any interested K-12 school or class with their teacher will be matched with a business volunteer.

Any interested K-12 school or class with their teacher who then engages the class with a volunteer business partner.

Goals of the Program

Who are business partner volunteers?

Business partners are recruited from the local community. The Bank of Montreal Group of Companies is the founding sponsor of the program and encourages their employees to volunteer. However volunteers can be recruited from the Board of Trade, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce and professional and industry associations.

What is the teacher’s role?

Teachers will want to integrate the Entrepreneurial Adventure into their students’ program of studies. The responsibility of ensuring that activities are designed to maximize learning opportunities for all students is up to the teacher. Involvement is a shared responsibility with the business partner volunteer as well as the students, so the organization of the project is important. Remember to think about the skills and experiences that your volunteer partner may offer and integrate them into the plan.

What is expected from a business partner?

While each partnership is unique and individual partners will negotiate the terms of their own partnership, it is anticipated that partners will spend approximately 6-8 hours per month working with the teacher and students in the classroom.
